I can hardly believe that we participated in our 8th JDRF Walk To Cure this past Sunday. Wow... Where has the time gone? I'll never forget our very first walk. It was quite literally the day after Gracie was released from the PICU after her diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes. That first walk was so windy and cold, I seriously thought Gracie would blow away if I let go of her hand:)
Last year, it was at the walk that we told Gracie she was getting a Diabetic Alert Dog. She was so excited by that news that nothing else mattered to her that day:) What a blessing it was this year to walk in Gracie's honor with Max William leading our way:) He was the hit of the day with lots of people asking about how he does his job and how he's improved Gracie's life with T1D. He was amazing, I might add, in a situation that had to be really difficult for him to handle... there were probably over 200 diabetics that he had to navigate through and he managed to stay pretty well focused on his girl. He is our champion:)
