Anticipation!

We're waiting... patiently; well, kind of:)  Hopefully, in just a couple of months, Gracie will have her little guardian angel that will look like one of those above.  So much cuter and softer than a CGM sensor and 100 % accurate 100% of the time.  Gracie always hated her CGM sensor.  It hurt ~ not just the insertion with the really big needle; but even after the needle was out, the sensor would continue to cause her pain and discomfort.  There's no way she wants to go back to those days.  2 insertions = 2 sites 24/7 on a little body with very little fat to absorb the pain.  Gracie's service dog will offer her even more control than she's ever had without all the physical pain.  We love this service dog already, even though we don't know yet when it will be here, what it looks like, or even if it's a boy or girl.  All we know is that little Max William or Lacey Joy has already crawled into our hearts and become part of our family and is offering us more hope for a bright and healthy future for our princess Gracie than we've ever had before.

  1. Not to sound like a total sap, but I look at pictures of these amazing service dogs and occassionaly find a few tears streaming down my cheeks when I realize just how close we are to giving Gracie such an amazing gift. She will have the help she so desparately needs in getting tighter control of her disease; but she will also have a best friend who will never look at her as different, will be there for her in all the ups and downs, and will give her comfort, peace, freedom and independence that she's never been able to have before. Praise God for this amazing blessing!
